Nature-based Counselling

Our qualified Social Worker provides confidential, one-on-one counselling for children and young people across Southern Adelaide. Using evidence-based approaches, we support youth in managing mental health challenges, building healthy coping skills, and developing lifelong resilience.

Specialised Support for:

  • Emotional Regulation: Managing anxiety, depression, and intense emotions (such as anger).

  • School Engagement: Navigating school refusal and academic/social-related stress.

  • Nature-Based Regulation: Developing coping tools in calming, natural environments.

Flexible & Accessible Support As a mobile youth service, we meet young people where they feel most comfortable. Whether it’s at school, a community setting, or a local trail park, we make support flexible and safe. For families outside our physical range, we also offer Telehealth counselling sessions Adelaide-wide

Therapeutic Mentoring

At Coastal Edge Youth Services, we help young people in the Marion and Onkaparinga areas confidently engage in community activities, hobbies, and events. Our mentoring support reduces barriers and builds self-assurance in new surroundings, helping youth discover new interests and build valuable social connections.

Hands-on support includes:

  • Social Inclusion: Attending activities and exploring new community experiences.

  • Life Skills: Cooking healthy meals, organising daily routines, and managing living spaces.

  • Real-World Integration: We bridge the gap between clinical therapy and daily life by applying strategies from your child’s Psychologist, OT, or Speech Pathologist in real-world settings.

These sessions are typically 2–4 hours, providing ample time for meaningful, real-world engagement.

Social Work Student Supervision

At Coastal Edge Youth Services, we believe that supervision should be more than just a "logbook sign-off." We offer a reflective, trauma-informed space for students studying Social Work to develop their unique clinical voice.

Supervision Support we offer:

  • External Student Supervision: Provide off-site supervision for students in settings without an MSW on site available to offer supervision

  • Place of Work (POW) Placements: Supporting students to complete their practical hours within their current workplace while receiving independent clinical oversight.

  • Reflective Practice: Weekly 1.5-hour sessions focusing on self-care, boundaries, and "Learner in Practice" development.

My supervision integrates:

  • Diverse Therapeutic Frameworks: Including nature-based and sensory-focused modalities, along with DBT, CBT & ACT principles and social work theories and principles.

  • Systems Advocacy: Bridging gaps to access supports and bypassing traditional waitlists.

  • Private Practice Innovation: Insights into establishing mobile, responsive services.
