My Outback Footprints Sensory Kit

Co-Created with The Little Explorers Box

For young wanderers exploring identity, naming big feelings, and discovering safe spaces, it doesn't happen through long conversations—it happens through low-demand, tactile play.

My Outback Footprints is a trauma-informed sensory kit designed to nurture emotional safety, self-worth, and relational connection. Built around child-led somatic play and native Australian wildlife themes, it gives children a zero-pressure space to map out their inner worlds.

Designed by an Adelaide Youth Social Worker & Counsellor, this kit provides a gentle, physical outlet for kids to stamp out big worries, name their hopes, and process complex feelings safely.

What’s Included in Your Kit:

  • Gum Leaves Sensory Base: Rich, natural-textured Australian sensory blend with a faint scent of soothing eucalyptus to calm and ground a dysregulated nervous system through multi-sensory play.

  • Burrow Red Base: Deep red Outback earth base for grounding, molding, and track-stamping play.

  • 5-in-1 Wooden Exploration Stamp: Custom multi-sided wooden stamp featuring kangaroo footprints, human footprints, falling leaves, a campfire, and a seedling—giving children a versatile way to visually map out their feelings and comfort zones

  • Karu Roo Sensory Fizz: Native eucalyptus-scented fizz puck to anchor the experience with soothing scents and calm sensory feedback.

  • Interactive Tool Pack: Includes a mini wooden spoon, dropper/pipette, and mesh strain scoop for fine-motor pouring and potion play.

  • Outback Affirmation Cards & Guide Prompts: Low-demand prompts and gentle reminders of belonging ("I am safe, I am learning, and I belong")

Designed For:

  • Parents & Carers looking for gentle, low-demand co-regulation tools at home.

  • Youth Counsellors, OTs, & Educators seeking trauma-informed, Australian-themed clinical session resources.

  • Children aged 3–10 navigating big emotions, sensory regulation, or identity exploration.
